Should I get a computer or a HDTV for Christmas?
Carl L asked:
Well for Christmas I can get an HDTV (around 40″-50″), but lately I’ve been playing lots of computer games and it’s nearly impossible since my computer is horrible. Should I get a new gaming PC or should I get an HDTV? I play more PC than Xbox 360, but I do watch lots of movies and TV.

Computers are far cheaper than 40-50″ HDTVs.
You can now get a kick-a$$ gaming computer for around US$300 or less, while even at Wal-Mart 42″ plasma HDTVs still sell for over twice that much.
You’ll still have to wait for several months after Christmas (even with the switchover in Feb ‘09) before every program on TV is HD — so your TV will basically be underutilized. You can start gaming on Christmas morning with your new PC.
