HDTV has a much sharper picture because it has so many more lines of horizontal resolution....1080 compared to 350 or so on analog tv. Besides, in 2009, all tv's are going to have to be digital. If you buy a digital set now, you won't have to add a set-top box in 2009. I have worked on tv's since 1970, so you can trust my answer. Yes , definitely.
