Are you connecting your converter box to a cable TV service. It's not designed for that. You shouldn't need a converter box for cable serevice. It's designed to receive digital signals off the air and convert them to analog signals for a conventional TV. A digital converter box isn't designed to unscramble channels that are scrambled and won't do that. The converter box also changes the picture to analog mode for a conventional TV and won't look as good as the same picture displayed directly from it digital format on a hi-def TV. Some of the digital converter boxes and supposed to be more sensitive than others as far as receiving the signals, but I don't know which brand might be better and which worse. I have a Zenith and it does a fine job.
