		<description>If  you receive the signal from an antenna, it is free.  If your set is an HDTV set (and if it is new, it probably is) then you will get HDTV when the station broadcasts it.  Some programs and many ads will be in "standard" definition (SDTV) which is not as sharp and the picture will not fill the screen.  But when a program is broadcast in HDTV you should notice the difference easily.</description>

In the Tri State area where Comcast/Optimum/ Roadrunner  ( ny / nj/ ct.) 
they give FREE HD WITH CABLE. you have to pay if you get it with verizon FiOs

If your antenna can pick it up then its 100% free.
All the Aussie channels (free to air, not cable) have one or more special HD channels which play the same thing as the regular channel, just in HD</description>
