I recently purchased a large hdtv, too. Did a LOT of shopping and comparing. Every store we went to, the salesperson pitched the Samsung brand as “the best”, top of the line. However, we noticed that the prices were a bit higher than some of the others we liked. We eventually bought a Phillips brand.

The two top brands, for BOTH performance and reliability, in 26″, 32″, and 37″ are Panasonic and Sony. A price point down, but a very good LCD HDTV, is Toshiba with, perhaps, Sharp next. Samsung is tops in advertising!

Samsung is still one of the top three TV manufacturers. If you search Google, there will be many sites specifically saying that.
