. GOOD advise from the first Poster! Magnavox is NOT high in quality! Although 4 out of 5 of the following 'Reviews' give the TV a good rating, you can do better. You do NOT want this set in your home for the next 10 Years! Probably the reason the tv in the store worked so well is because they have an excellent reception and the pros adjusted it for maximum clarity!
"...This HDTV does have a great picture but the assembly instructions are poor. I had to return it and buy a Sony." ...
"...I honestly can't relate to half of these reviews here. I got a refurb a couple weeks ago and it's been absolutely great. " ...
"...I'm going on as many forums as possible to tell people to stay away from this TV. I bought one. It looks awesome, when it works. It often will go blank." ...
"... I do have two concerns:
1. It takes over a minute for the tv to turn on. Is this normal?
2. Twice the picture blacked out as if the tv shut off, but the power light was still on. " ... etc.
...Read the CunsumerSearch. Go with Sony, JVC or Sharp.

Standard def tv will look like crap on HD flat panels. Basically your singal coming in is at 480 lines and the tv basicallty has to stretch it to fit the 720 lines of the set. Thats why it looks fuzzy/grainy. You are gonna need HD coming in if you want pic that looks comperable to the stores.
