you could go to an online computer cable store and perhaps pick up a DVI to RCA (or whatever your TV accepts).

I think the peripheral cord you need is a hdmi cord.

Two solutions, either get a DVI to HDMI cable or a s-video cable. DVI to HDMI will look alot better but will be quite costly. S-Video will be cheap and will look like crap.

Well, we would need to know what type of input your TV has? You say it doesn’t have a standard VGA computer input but does it have a DVI input? If you, you can buy a vga to DVI cable to connect them.
If it has HDMI inputs on it and your laptop has an HDMI output on it then you could just use an HDMI cable.
More info is needed.
