I am moving into an apartment and dont want to have to get a phone line just for my tivo updates. I have tivo dvr series 2 with software 9. What do I have to get to be able to update my Tivo through the internet?

   You can connect you TiVo to your home network to update over the internet either wired or wirelessly. All you need is an internet connection, a router, and either a cable or a wireless adapter. More can be found on TiVo’s website
