I don’t have digital cable. I know that I need to get a box from comcast to make HDTV work but do I need to upgrade my cable to digital cable as well?

   Your tv will still work without upgrading it but if you want to get the full impact of the clarity it is capable of then yes you need to upgrade it to digital cable but that is what the HDTV does so if you get the box for that you will have also upgraded.

   Yes. In order to watch HD you will need a HD box and you will need the digital upgrade for that to work.

   You need to go with HD/Digital cable. Not all programming on HD cable is HD, some is digital.
