I have a 46" AND 42" 720P HDTVs and am very impressed with the quality. Most big cable and satellite company's don't even broadcast in full 1080p HD, so I'd just buy a 720p HDTV and save some money. We bought our 52" LCD 1080i sharp aquos there. and it was only $2200 last year when we bought it. This is more than your looking to spend, but that price was $1000 cheaper than the best price we found around our area. Plus they shipped it very well (my bf sweated about it so much!). At least do some price comparison, and you may be able to upgrade and stay within your budget. definately look into buydig.com.
